First Free Public Beach Opens in Latakia

Latakia, SANA – The first free public beach in Latakia Governorate was inaugurated in the Blue Beach area, following the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation works carried out under the campaign “Latakia, We Are Its People.”

Named “Latakia People’s Beach” (formerly the Teachers’ Syndicate Beach), the project was launched 40 days ago as a joint initiative with Latakia Governorate. According to project coordinator Mousa Al-Omar, the beach has now opened to visitors after being developed to meet high hotel standards, equipped with modern public facilities and lighting. It is also the first beach in Latakia to be illuminated at night.

Al-Omar added that the initiative further includes plans to establish a dedicated youth beach and to rehabilitate Al-Harsh Park, expanding recreational spaces for the city’s residents.
