Damascus, Feb. 11 (SANA) The head of Syria’s newly established Syrian Development Fund met Tuesday with the president of the Syrian American Business Council to discuss expanding cooperation and engagement with the Syrian community in the United States to support Syria’s reconstruction efforts.
Safwat Raslan, director-general of the fund, held talks with Issam Ghreiwati, head of the council, on ways to strengthen collaboration and encourage support for development projects in Syria, according to a statement.

The meeting, held at the fund’s headquarters in Damascus, included a presentation on the fund’s mandate, development programs and mechanisms for supporting key sectors in the country. Discussions also focused on facilitating a greater role for expatriates in contributing to development efforts.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and information exchange and discussed establishing a practical framework for future cooperation, the statement said.
The Syrian Development Fund was established under Decree No. 112 issued in June 2025. It is tasked with supporting reconstruction efforts and developing infrastructure and essential facilities through development and financing programs.
