Kyiv, Sept. 27 (SANA) Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 10,660 Russian military personnel across all active combat sectors over the past week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday, citing a briefing by Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi.
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian troops had achieved “important results” in the Lyman sector of the Donetsk region during Operation Vivaldi, as well as in another active defence operation conducted by the Air Assault Forces.
He added that each reported Russian casualty was supported by video evidence. The figures could not be independently verified.
The fiercest fighting was taking place in the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Lyman sectors, while Ukrainian operations were also continuing in the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy regions, according to Zelenskyy.
He commended the Third Army Corps and the 68th Separate Oleksa Dovbush Airmobile Brigade of the Eighth Air Assault Corps for their performance during the week.
“Every such week on the front that becomes ours—Ukrainian—in terms of the overall situation prevents Russia from mounting greater offensive activity against Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The Ukrainian president added that he and Drapatyi had agreed on further operational steps.
Ukrinform previously reported that the Third Army Corps used ground-based robotic systems during Operation Vivaldi to remotely establish 400 metres of mine barriers over two nights.
