Brussels, April 20 (SANA) Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stressed the importance of coordinated international efforts to support the Palestinian economy, which he said is facing mounting pressure as a result of the economic blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities.
According to the Jordan News Agency Petra, Safadi made the remarks on Monday during his participation in a meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC), which coordinates international aid to Palestinian people, in the Belgian capital Brussels.
He said that investing in the Palestinian economy is “an investment in peace,” adding that peace cannot be achieved without fulfilling the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and the establishment of an independent state.
Safadi called for the immediate halt of what he described as illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, including settlement expansion, land annexation and continued violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
He also stressed the need to allow sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to end the humanitarian catastrophe there.
Safadi called for the full implementation of the plan announced by US President Donald Trump regarding Gaza, as well as UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which entered into force on October 10, 2025, resulting in the killing and injury of hundreds of Palestinians, in addition to more than 72,000 Palestinians killed and tens of thousands wounded during the war on the territory that lasted more than two years.
