Washington, Sept. 20 (SANA) The U.S. military announced Sunday that four people were killed in a strike targeting a suspected drug-smuggling boat in the Caribbean Sea.
The U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said in a statement posted on the platform X that the Joint Task Force Southern Hemisphere carried out the strike on Sept. 19 against a speedboat operating along known drug-trafficking routes in the Caribbean.
The command said intelligence had confirmed the vessel’s involvement in drug smuggling, adding that the strike resulted in the deaths of four people.
On Aug. 26, SOUTHCOM announced that four people were killed in another strike targeting a vessel in the Caribbean Sea over alleged involvement in drug-trafficking activities.
The U.S. administration has carried out strikes against vessels it accuses of transporting drugs in the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific Ocean since September 2025.
According to U.S. authorities, more than 210 people have been killed in those operations.
