Riyadh, Sept. 14 (SANA) Thirteen civilians were injured after Yemen’s Houthi militia carried out missile and drone attacks targeting civilian areas in three Saudi cities, Saudi authorities said Monday.
The Coalition spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the Houthi militia launched attacks using missiles and drones against civilian areas in Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif in western Saudi Arabia.
The attacks caused minor to moderate injuries to 13 civilians, damaged several residential homes and affected two vehicles.
Al-Maliki added that the Joint Forces Command of the coalition responded to the attacks to protect Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, civilians and civilian infrastructure, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the right of self-defense, international humanitarian law and customary rules.
Saudi Civil Defense had earlier issued emergency alerts for residents in Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Abha and Najran in southwestern Saudi Arabia, urging them to take precautionary measures and move to safe locations in case of potential risks.
The latest attacks follow a series of incidents targeting Saudi areas, including one on Saturday when a projectile struck Al-Tuwal Governorate in Jazan Province in southwestern Saudi Arabia, injuring two people and damaging civilian property.
