Minister of Information discusses with MBC Studios director Drama and TV cooperation

Riyadh, Aug. 31 (SANA) Minister of Information Khaled Zaarour toured the MBC Group studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he was briefed on their history, broadcasting, and international applications.

Studios’ CEO, Mark Sneesby escorted Minister Zaarour during his tour. The two sides discussed cooperation between Syria and Saudi Arabia in the field of drama, developing radio and television production, and ways to enhance partnerships in talent development, in partnership with the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and the National Drama Committee in Syria, in a way that support the dramatic arts movement and develop its tools.

Both sides commended the role of Syrian drama in resonating with the Arab public and its ability to address social issues. They emphasized the need to restore its former glory and prominence, restructure its production to overcome the challenges aroused during recent years, and create a suitable environment that stimulates production and ensures its continuity.

The Minister of Information pointed to the ministry’s plans to restructure and develop the legislative and legal environment, emphasizing that Syria is making significant strides in a foundational and developmental path that relies on the best capabilities and diverse programs.

Earlier, Zaarour discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousuf al Dossary, media relations and cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit to the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he discussed with the agency’s acting president, Hassan bin Mohammed al-Asmari, ways of enhancing news cooperation and the exchange of professional expertise.

Furthermore, the Syrian General Authority for Radio and Television and the Saudi Broadcasting Authority signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening and developing cooperation in the radio and television sectors.

Information Minister tours al-Arabiya headquarters in Riyadh, reviews technology upgrades

Syrian Information Minister Khaled Zaarour toured the headquarters of al-Arabiya channel in Riyadh, where he was briefed on the latest technologies used in the channel’s studios and broadcasting rooms.

During the field visit, Zaarour examined ways to utilize modern technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of news coverage.

The Ministry of Information said in a statement published on its Telegram channel on Monday that technical discussions during the visit focused on technical infrastructure, studio operations and live broadcasting equipment.

The discussions also addressed the importance of updating systems and developing technical teams to ensure high levels of production and professional standards in media content.
