Istanbul, Aug. 30 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Istanbul Sunday to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the two ministers expressed satisfaction with the continued strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations across the political, economic, security and cultural fields.
They welcomed progress made within the framework of the Pakistan–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and agreed to convene its next session at an early date.
Fidan and Dar also exchanged views on regional and international issues and reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation in support of regional peace and stability.
Officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye are scheduled to hold the first meeting of a political and defence committee in Istanbul Monday under the Mecca defence pact signed earlier this month.
