New Delhi, May 25 (SANA)– U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Monday that Washington would deal with Iran differently if negotiations fail to produce a satisfactory agreement, adding that diplomacy would be given “every chance” before alternatives are considered.
Reuters quoted Rubio as telling reporters in New Delhi that the United States remains committed to pursuing diplomatic efforts before exploring other options.
He said a “very important offer” remains on the negotiating table, including discussions related to the Strait of Hormuz and what he described as serious, time-limited negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
Rubio expressed hope that the talks would produce tangible results.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that negotiations with Iran were progressing in an “organized and constructive” manner and that he had advised American negotiators not to rush into any agreement.
Rubio also signaled the possibility of an announcement regarding a potential agreement within hours, a development that could open the door to a diplomatic breakthrough amid rising regional tensions.
