Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 27 (SANA) The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ seizure of about 15 dunams of Palestinian land near al-Bireh in the central West Bank under a military order to establish a security route around the Psagot settlement, according to a statement cited Thursday by the Palestinian WAFA news agency.

The commission said the route would create a new buffer zone around the settlement and restrict Palestinian access to their land. The order targets land within al-Bireh and provides for its effective possession to be transferred to the military commander in the area.

It said the order was issued on June 18, 2025, and remains in effect until Dec. 31, 2027. Landowners have seven days to file objections, while maps show the planned route would form a near-complete ring around the settlement, according to the commission.

Preliminary measurements of the maps indicate that, in addition to the land directly seized, the measure would restrict Palestinian access to more than 380 dunams between existing settlement construction and the designated route.

The commission warned that implementing the route could isolate that land and effectively place it under the settlement’s security control by restricting its owners’ access.

The measure comes amid Israeli occupation actions to seize Palestinian land and expand settlements and settlement outposts across the West Bank. The commission said Israeli occupation authorities have issued 46 military orders in recent months to establish buffer zones around settlements.

On Aug. 19, Israeli occupation authorities announced the seizure of about 1,152 dunams of land in Ramallah and Nablus. They said the measure was intended to expand a settlement and strengthen geographic links between settlement outposts.
