Jerusalem. 6, Aug (SANA) Israeli forces arrested 11 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank on Thursday, while the Palestinian Health Ministry said the total number of people killed and wounded in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has surpassed 247,000 since Oct. 7, 2023.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli forces detained a 17-year-old from the village of Tayasir, east of Tubas, five Palestinians in Hebron governorate, four others in Nablus and one man from the town of Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarm.
Israeli forces also continued operations for a second consecutive day in Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, carrying out demolition and search operations while tightening military measures in the area. Israeli authorities also demolished a residential building in the town of Kafr Qasim inside the 1948 territories, citing construction without a permit.
In the northern Jordan Valley, Israeli settlers fenced off additional Palestinian land in the Hammamat al-Maleh area and closed it to Palestinian residents. Another group of settlers attacked residents of Khirbet al-Tuba in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, injuring six Palestinians, including a woman and two children.
Settlers also burned five homes and destroyed solar energy systems supplying the community.
According to Palestinian figures, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 11,074 attacks against Palestinians and their property during the first half of 2026.
Separately, the Palestinian Health Ministry said the death toll from the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,382, while 174,236 people have been wounded, bringing the total number of casualties to 247,618 since Oct. 7, 2023.
The ministry said hospitals in the enclave received one person who later died from previous injuries and five wounded people over the past 24 hours.
It added that since the ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10 last year, 1,255 people have been killed and 4,125 injured.
The ministry said additional victims remain beneath the rubble and in areas inaccessible to rescue teams, with ambulance and civil defense crews unable to reach them.
