Cairo, Aug. 5 (SANA) President of the Arab Parliament Mohamed al-Yamahi on Wednesday condemned the ongoing crimes and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, calling on the international community to take urgent and binding measures to stop them and implement international legitimacy resolutions.
In a statement published on the Arab Parliament’s official website, al-Yamahi said the latest crimes, including the targeting of hospitals, healthcare facilities, residential homes and displaced people’s tents, which resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of innocent civilians, most of them women and children, represent a continuation of the war of genocide, starvation policy and comprehensive destruction pursued by the occupation.
He said these actions constitute an unprecedented violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions and United Nations resolutions.
Al-Yamahi stressed that what the Palestinian people are facing is no longer merely violations or abuses, but organized terrorism, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in full view of the world, amid unjustified international inability and silence that encourages the occupation to continue its crimes and aggressive policies.
He warned that the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including attacks carried out by settler groups under the protection of occupation forces, along with settlement expansion, land confiscation and forced displacement of Palestinians, confirms the continuation of a plan aimed at eliminating the Palestinian cause and imposing illegal realities on the ground.
Al-Yamahi called on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to take urgent and binding measures to stop the war against the Palestinian people, implement international legitimacy resolutions, and compel the occupation to implement the ceasefire agreement and proceed to the second phase of the peace plan.
He stressed the need to ensure a permanent end to the aggression, a full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the opening of crossings, and the immediate and sufficient delivery of humanitarian and medical aid.
He also called for enabling the Government of the State of Palestine to exercise its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as one geographic and political unit.
Al-Yamahi further demanded the imposition of international sanctions on the occupation, the suspension of privileges, agreements and facilities granted to it until compliance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and the listing of settlement organizations, settler militias and entities supporting and financing them on international terrorism lists.
He called for prosecuting occupation leaders before the International Criminal Court and ending the policy of impunity that has encouraged the continuation of crimes.
