Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 4 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces detained five Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, while Israeli settlers carried out attacks on Palestinian communities and property in several areas, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

WAFA reported that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians during raids in the towns of Deir al-Ghusun and Al-Jarushiya, north of Tulkarm. A university student was also detained after Israeli forces searched his home in Beit Anan, northwest of Jerusalem, while another Palestinian was detained during a raid on the village of Umm Safa near Ramallah. Israeli forces also entered the town of Al-Ram, north of Jerusalem.

In Hebron, Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods, briefly detained a number of former Palestinian prisoners for questioning at the scene after searching their homes and, according to WAFA, assaulted some of them before releasing them. Israeli forces also entered Al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron, searching homes and causing extensive property damage.

Elsewhere, Israeli military vehicles entered Al-Far’a refugee camp, south of Tubas, where troops conducted house searches. WAFA also reported that a journalist was briefly detained during a raid on Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem before being released.

Settler attacks continue in Hebron and Nablus

WAFA said Israeli settlers stormed Khirbet al-Kharaba in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron, attacking homes and intimidating residents, including children.

In the southern Nablus area, settlers set fire to three vehicles, attacked homes between the villages of Jalud and Talfit, damaged part of the electricity network in Madama, and attempted to set fire to a building before residents intervened.

According to WAFA, villages south of Nablus, including Jalud, Qaryut, Talfit, Qusra and Madama, have seen an increase in settler attacks targeting homes, agricultural land, infrastructure and other property.
