Occupied Jerusalem, July, 28 (SANA) Several Palestinians were injured Tuesday in attacks by Israeli settlers in Bethlehem and Hebron in the West Bank, while Israeli occupation forces arrested 22 Palestinians, including former prisoners, during raids across several areas.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, a group of settlers assaulted a Palestinian in the village of Minya, southeast of Bethlehem, beating him with a metal pipe and causing head injuries and bruises to his neck and shoulder.
In Hebron, settlers attacked residents in the Khallat al-Hummus area of Yatta, south of the city, beating residents and firing tear gas, which injured several people.
Israeli occupation forces subsequently arrested a Palestinian and his two sons in connection with the attack. They also raided the towns of Yatta, Idhna and Deir Samit, searched homes, assaulted residents and conducted field interrogations after detaining several people.
Earlier Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces raided several neighborhoods in Nablus and arrested eight Palestinians, including a woman.
They also arrested seven Palestinians in Tulkarm and its outskirts, while raiding and searching several homes in the town of Qaffin, north of Tulkarm, and Ezbet Shofa, southeast of the city. Residents were subjected to field interrogation, according to WAFA.
In Jenin, Israeli occupation forces arrested three former prisoners after raiding and searching their homes.
In Qalqilya, they arrested a young Palestinian man after deploying in the al-Shamiya neighborhood and al-Maghayir area. Several Israeli military vehicles also entered the city through its eastern entrance and raided the al-Huda Radio for the Holy Quran station in the Sofin neighborhood.
The forces confiscated the station’s contents and posted notices ordering its closure and prohibiting it from reopening.
Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished two homes Tuesday in the village of Deir Razeh, southwest of Dura in Hebron. Earlier in the day, Israeli forces had demolished another home in Shuqba village, west of Ramallah.
With the three homes demolished Tuesday in Deir Razeh and Shuqba, the number of homes and structures demolished by Israeli occupation forces since Monday morning has risen to more than 13 homes and three structures in the governorates of Jerusalem, Ramallah and Jenin.
Deir Razeh and villages and communities in the western area of Dura have faced an increasing campaign of demolitions and stop-work orders amid settlement plans aimed at taking control of more land and imposing a new reality on residents in the area.
The developments come as Israeli occupation forces continue to escalate military operations and measures in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, accompanied by arrests, raids, home demolitions and attacks on Palestinians and their property, amid continued Arab and international condemnation and calls to halt violations and protect Palestinians.
