Washington, July 28 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday described ongoing talks between the United States and Iran as “good,” saying there is a real opportunity to reach an agreement over the conflict between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, according to Reuters: “We are having good talks, and I think there is a good chance that something will happen. If it does, it will be a good thing. If it doesn’t, we’ll go back to what we were doing two days ago.”
Trump added that Iran is seeking negotiations “because we were hitting them very hard,” while warning that U.S. military strikes would resume if the talks fail to produce results.
Earlier on Monday, Trump said he was prepared to take “strong military action” if negotiations with Iran collapse, following his decision to temporarily suspend military strikes.
