London 21 July (SANA) A British maritime authority announced on Tuesday that an unidentified projectile struck an oil tanker off the coast of Oman.
AFP quoted the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) as saying it had received multiple reports of an oil tanker being struck by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. The UKMTO added that the incident occurred eight nautical miles northeast of Lima, north of Oman.
Shipping data released by the London Stock Exchange Group on Monday showed a sharp decline in the number of ships and oil and gas tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz at the start of the week, amid escalating military tensions between the United States and Iran.
