Manama, July 13 (SANA) Bahrain’s General Command said Monday that the kingdom’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a number of Iranian aerial targets, adding that the country’s armed forces remain at the highest level of defensive readiness amid continuing regional tensions.

According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the General Command said Iran continued launching missile and drone attacks, adding that Bahrain’s air defense systems successfully intercepted the incoming aerial targets.

The General Command urged citizens and residents to exercise caution, avoid approaching suspicious objects or debris from the attacks, and report them to the relevant authorities. It added that military engineering units are prepared to deal with any unexploded ordnance.

The statement said attacks targeting civilians and civilian property with missiles and drones constitute a violation of international humanitarian law.

The announcement comes amid escalating military tensions in the region following Iranian attacks targeting several Arab countries and growing confrontation between the United States and Iran.
