Amman, May 18 (SANA) Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi held a telephone call Sunday with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss efforts aimed at strengthening regional security and stability.
According to a statement issued Monday by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry on X platform, the talks focused on ways to enhance international cooperation and intensify joint diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and promote lasting stability.
The discussions also addressed the repercussions of the drone attack targeting the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi.
During the call, Safadi strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
He reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with the UAE and support for measures aimed at protecting the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
The United Arab Emirates, the Arab Parliament, the League of Arab States, Jordan, Egypt and Qatar condemned Sunday’s drone attack on the Barakah nuclear facility, expressing full solidarity with the UAE in confronting the incident.
