Pakistan says channels of dialogue between Washington and Tehran still open
Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry

Islamabad, April 30 (SANA) Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Tahir Andarabi, said on Thursday that communication channels remain open regarding talks between the United States and Iran.

“Negotiations have not stopped,” Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Andarabi as saying during a press conference, adding that his country is maintaining contact with all relevant parties and supporting direct dialogue to achieve lasting stability, noting that the recent ceasefire understandings have helped prevent further escalation and civilian casualties.

He described the ongoing mediation efforts as “constructive.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed on April 25th his country’s commitment to playing the role of “honest broker” in the negotiations between the United States and Iran, stressing Islamabad’s continued efforts to promote regional stability.
