Pakistan PM backs extended U.S.-Iran truce, urges lasting deal
Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad, April 22 (SANA) Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed on Wednesday the extension of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

According to Reuters, Sharif said in a post on platform X that he hoped both sides would continue to adhere to the truce and reach a comprehensive peace agreement during the second round of talks scheduled to be held in Islamabad, with the aim of ending the conflict permanently.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the extension of the ceasefire with Iran, just hours before a truce declared about two weeks earlier was set to expire.
