Doha, April 20 (SANA) Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani spoke by phone with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Monday to discuss regional developments, including de-escalation efforts following the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the two ministers reviewed bilateral ties and ways to strengthen cooperation, as well as ongoing efforts to support the ceasefire.
Al Thani stressed the need for all parties to respond positively to mediation efforts and pursue dialogue aimed at reaching a lasting agreement that would prevent further escalation.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said early on April 8 that a two-week ceasefire had been agreed with Iran, a move that was widely welcomed in the region and internationally.
