Beirut, April 15 (SANA) Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes across Nabatieh in southern Lebanon early Wednesday, killing five people and injuring others, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).
NNA reported that four members of the same family were killed in a dawn strike on a house in the town of Jabaa in Nabatieh district. Additional raids targeted areas including Nabatieh al-Fawqa and the road linking Habboush and Arabsalim.
Another strike in the Zahrani area killed one person after an Israeli attack hit a motorcycle on the Bablaya road, while a drone strike targeted a vehicle in Jezzine district. Two further airstrikes hit towns in Tyre district later in the morning, leaving a number of people injured.
Israeli warplanes also struck the town of Mefdoun in Nabatieh. According to NNA, a drone launched a second strike as paramedics from the Islamic Health Authority and the Islamic Risala Scout Association arrived at the scene, causing injuries among rescue teams.
In a related development, an NNA correspondent reported that Israeli forces opened machine-gun fire from a radar site toward the outskirts of Shebaa. Artillery shelling also targeted towns in Bint Jbeil district.
The latest escalation follows earlier raids from Tuesday night into early Wednesday, which left 12 people dead and several others injured across multiple towns in southern Lebanon.
