Canberra, April 12 (SANA) Australia on Sunday called for maintaining the ceasefire between the United States and Iran following the failure of talks in Islamabad to reach an agreement.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said in a statement, cited by Agence France-Presse, that “the priority now must be to continue the ceasefire and return to negotiations,” adding: “The end of the Islamabad talks between the United States and Iran without an agreement is disappointing.”

Earlier, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said talks with Iran held in Islamabad had ended without agreement and that the U.S. delegation had departed Pakistan to return to the United States.
