Doha, Riyadh, April 8 (SANA) Four people were injured in Qatar after debris from intercepted Iranian missiles fell near Doha, while Saudi Arabia said its air defense systems shot down multiple ballistic missiles over its eastern region, officials said Wednesday.
Qatari authorities said the injuries occurred when fragments of intercepted missiles struck a house in the Marikh area near the capital.
The Ministry of Interior, quoted by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), said security services responded to the incident, which caused injuries, including to a child, and resulted in material damage. It urged residents to follow official instructions and avoid gathering near the site.
In Saudi Arabia, the Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed five ballistic missiles over the eastern region, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Military spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said the interceptions were part of ongoing efforts to counter missile threats. The ministry had earlier reported destroying seven ballistic missiles targeting the Eastern Province, with debris falling near energy facilities.
Saudi authorities also said air defenses intercepted Iranian drones in the country’s airspace.
Gulf countries have faced drone and missile attacks since the start of the U.S.-Israeli–Iranian war on February 28, raising concerns over regional security and civilian safety.
