Baghdad, April 7 (SANA) Two civilians were killed in an airstrike on a village in northern Iraq’s Erbil province late Monday, the Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Service said, in the latest of a series of attacks in the area.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the service said the strike hit the village of Zarkazawa in the Darashakran subdistrict, confirming that the victims were civilians.
The service condemned the strike, describing it as a violation of international law and a war crime.
The strike comes days after Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw said more than 20 drones had targeted the province earlier this month, adding that air defenses intercepted all of them before they could reach their intended targets.
