Beirut, March 27 (SANA) Two people were killed and eight others injured Friday in Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported.
Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) quoted the ministry saying that Israeli warplanes struck the town of Kafr Raman, causing the casualties.
Israeli forces also carried out airstrikes on a house in Hanin and a building in the Ammariyeh area near Al-Qalilah along the Tyre–Naqoura road. In addition, Israeli troops shelled the outskirts of Debel and Qouzah, the entrances to Beit Lif, and the peripheries of Naqoura town and the Hamoul area.
Israeli attacks on Lebanon have escalated since March 2, following strikes by Hezbollah targeting Israeli positions. The assaults have included intensive airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, as well as wide areas of southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, accompanied by ground incursions aimed at separating areas south of the Litani River from the north and establishing a so-called “buffer zone.”
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, Israeli aggressions have killed 1,116 people and injured 3,229 as of Thursday.
