Abu Dhabi/Riyadh, March 25 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia said Wednesday their air defense systems had intercepted several hostile drones entering their airspace amid heightened regional tensions.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said its air defenses had dealt with nine unmanned aerial vehicles approaching from Iran. The ministry said its forces are fully prepared to counter threats and protect the country’s sovereignty and critical infrastructure.
It added that its air defense systems have intercepted hundreds of ballistic missiles and thousands of drones since the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, resulting in casualties among military personnel and civilians of various nationalities, as well as material damage.
In Riyadh, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said its air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed three hostile drones that had entered the country’s eastern region, with no casualties reported.
The developments come amid ongoing regional escalation involving drone and missile activity affecting several countries, raising concerns over broader instability and its impact on Middle East security.
