Ankara, March 15 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Israel’s expansionist policies in the region are keeping the Middle East in a state of constant tension.
Speaking to the Associated Press (AP), Fidan said Israel’s aim is not security but rather gaining more land, warning that unless this mindset changes, the Arab world will remain a perpetual battleground.
Fidan added that as long as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains in power, Israel will continue portraying various regional actors as enemies in order to advance its agenda.
He also addressed the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, saying the current conditions are not suitable for diplomacy, while stressing that Türkiye is continuing efforts to persuade Iran to halt its attacks on countries in the region.
During a press conference on Saturday, Fidan said the main causes of the conflict must not be ignored, noting that Türkiye does not want to be a party to the war.
Since Feb. 28, the United States and Israel have launched air and missile strikes on Iran, which has responded by firing missiles and drones at Israel and attacking several countries in the region.
