Amman, March 14 (SANA) The Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Saturday that its air forces successfully intercepted 79 missiles and drones launched from Iran toward Jordan during the second week of escalating hostilities.
The Military Media Directorate said in a statement on its official website that a total of 85 missiles and drones were fired directly from Iran targeting vital sites in Jordan. Air defense systems intercepted most of the projectiles. However, five drones and one missile still landed within the country.
A spokesperson for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate said authorities received 93 reports of falling debris and shrapnel across various governorates, with nine injuries recorded over the past week.
In the statement, the Jordanian Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to defending the homeland and ensuring the safety and security of citizens, pledging to deploy all available resources in this effort.
Iran continues to launch missile and drone attacks against several Arab and regional countries, resulting in casualties and material damage as military tensions escalate in the region amid ongoing U.S.-Israeli-Iranian conflict.
