Occupied Jerusalem, March 12 (SANA) Khirbet Yarza, east of Tubas in the West Bank, has recently seen an escalation in attacks by settlers and Israeli occupation forces that residents say are aimed at forcing them to leave the area, Palestinian media reported.
Residents say the attacks have included repeated incursions, threats and harassment, along with settlement plans aimed at confiscating agricultural land and reducing residential space in the village, the Palestinian WAFA news agency reported.
The attacks have led to the displacement of 11 Palestinian families, who left their homes and moved what belongings and livestock they could to other areas in Tubas.
Omair Anbousi, a resident of the village, said, “I was born and raised here, but the attacks have increased significantly, and we were given only three days to leave.” He said he erected a tent to shelter his family after being forced to leave some of his belongings behind.
Majed Anbousi said residents do not feel safe even after their displacement, as they continue to face harassment in the areas where they relocated.
Mukhlis Masa’id, head of the Yarza village council, said the situation amounts to the “complete destruction of life” in the area, adding that residents have endured similar pressures for nearly four decades.
He said pastoral settlements have expanded in the area, contributing to the control of large tracts of land amid increasing settler presence and repeated attacks.
Israeli authorities announced in November 2025 a settlement plan that threatens to seize 1,042 dunams of land in Tubas.
According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, 70 communities have been displaced over the past two years in the eastern West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
