Occupied Jerusalem, March 9 (SANA) Four Palestinians, including two women and a child, were killed and 10 others wounded Monday in an Israeli airstrike targeting tents sheltering displaced people in the al-Sawarha area west of al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said.
Local media reported that the airstrike struck a gathering of displaced people, while the wounded were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. In a separate incident, a young man died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli forces in the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
The escalation comes as Israeli forces continue airstrikes and artillery shelling in various parts of the Gaza Strip despite a ceasefire agreement declared on October 10.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the death toll since October 7, 2023 has risen to 72,126, while more than 171,809 people have been wounded amid a worsening humanitarian situation in the enclave
