Oslo, March 8 (SANA) Norwegian police said Sunday that an explosion occurred near the U.S. Embassy in the capital, Oslo, but reported no casualties.
Police said in a statement they had no information about the cause of the blast or who was responsible, adding that an investigation is underway at the site.
Local residents said thick smoke was seen on the street after the explosion.
The incident comes amid heightened security at U.S. embassies worldwide due to rising tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
