Abu Dhabi, March 5 (SANA) The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that its air defenses destroyed six Iranian ballistic missiles and intercepted 125 drones.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted the Ministry as saying: “Since the start of the blatant Iranian aggression, 196 ballistic missiles have been detected, 181 of which were destroyed, while 13 fell into the sea and two landed on UAE territory. Additionally, 1,072 Iranian drones were detected, 1,001 of which were intercepted, while 71 landed within UAE territory. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.”
The Ministry emphasized its readiness to respond to any threats, asserting its determination to confront actions that aim to destabilize the country, protect its sovereignty, maintain security and stability, and safeguard national interests and capabilities.
Earlier on Thursday, six people were injured in Abu Dhabi when debris from a drone intercepted by Emirati forces fell on two locations, amid ongoing Iranian attacks on Gulf states.
Iran has continued launching missile and drone attacks on several Arab countries, including the UAE, resulting in casualties and material damage. These attacks follow US-Israeli strikes targeting Iran since last Saturday.
