Riyadh, March 5 (SANA) Saudi Arabia on Thursday strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Turkey and Azerbaijan, calling them a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attempts targeting the two countries reflected “Iran’s repeated hostile behavior toward states in the region.”
The ministry said the actions violate international laws and norms as well as the principles of good neighborliness, warning that they could push the region toward further escalation.
Saudi Arabia expressed full solidarity with Turkey and Azerbaijan and affirmed their right to protect their security, airspace and territorial integrity.
Earlier Thursday, Nakhchivan International Airport and several areas in Azerbaijan were targeted in an Iranian drone attack that caused injuries and material damage.
On Wednesday, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said a NATO air defense system deployed in the eastern Mediterranean intercepted a missile launched by Iran toward Turkish airspace.
