Washington, March 5 (SANA) Human rights organizations and activists in the United States have called for urgent international action to reopen crossings into the Gaza Strip and allow the immediate entry of food and medical supplies.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the groups condemned the continued closure of crossings into Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian aid, particularly during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The organizations said the restrictions worsen the humanitarian situation in the enclave and called on the international community to ensure the delivery of essential supplies to residents.
They also criticized the position of the U.S. administration, saying Washington had failed to exert sufficient pressure on Israel to ease restrictions on aid entering Gaza and urging accountability for policies that increase Palestinian suffering.
The appeal comes amid growing international concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza as the territory continues to face bombardment and a prolonged blockade.
Several human rights and civil society organizations in the United States advocate for Palestinian rights and organize campaigns and protests aimed at influencing U.S. policy on the issue.
