Saudi Arabia reaffirms readiness to protect its security, backs states hit by Iran

Riyadh, March 4 (SANA) – Saudi Arabia’s Council of Ministers reaffirmed that the Kingdom will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its territory, citizens, and residents.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the cabinet held a meeting Tuesday via videoconference chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which ministers reviewed recent regional developments and their implications for regional and international security.

The council also reviewed the outcomes of contacts and consultations conducted in recent days regarding the escalating situation in the region.

It expressed appreciation for the positions of friendly and brotherly countries that condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The council reiterated Saudi Arabia’s full solidarity with countries whose territories were affected by the attacks, affirming the Kingdom’s readiness to mobilize its capabilities to support measures taken to confront threats to regional security and stability.

Iran has continued launching missile and drone attacks on several Gulf states following the ongoing U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran that began on Saturday.
