Muscat, March 3 (SANA) An oil storage tank at the Port of Duqm in southern Oman was struck in a drone attack Tuesday, according to an Omani security source.
The source said several unmanned aerial vehicles targeted fuel storage facilities at the commercial port, damaging one of the tanks. Authorities confirmed the situation was swiftly brought under control and that no casualties were reported.
Oman condemned the attack, saying it is taking all necessary measures to address the incident and safeguard critical infrastructure.
The development follows a similar incident reported Sunday, when the Port of Duqm, located on Oman’s southeastern coast, was targeted by two drones.
The attack comes amid escalating regional tensions. Iran has launched missile and drone strikes against several Gulf states in recent days, resulting in casualties and material damage. Iran has described the strikes as retaliation for joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on sites inside Iran since Saturday, which reportedly caused deaths, injuries and significant infrastructure damage.
