Riyadh, Feb.22 (SANA)-The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the dangerous and irresponsible statements made by U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee.
In a statement issued Saturday, the OIC General Secretariat said: “Huckabee’s statements constitute an unacceptable call for Israel, as the occupying power, to expand its territory and seize more Palestinian and Arab lands, especially since they are based on false and unacceptable historical and ideological claims that violate the sovereignty of states, diplomatic norms, the principles of international law, and UN resolutions and its Charter.”
In its concluding statement, the General Secretariat of the (OIC) reiterated its unwavering and absolute support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state in line with June 4, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The statements made by the US Ambassador to Israel regarding Israel’s expansionist policies were met with widespread condemnation and denunciation in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
