Amman, Feb. 1 (SANA) Jordan on Saturday condemned repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in dozens of people killed and wounded, warning that the actions amount to a dangerous escalation.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali said the violations undermine regional and international efforts aimed at maintaining security and stability in the enclave.
“The Kingdom absolutely rejects and strongly condemns the Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza,” Majali said, calling on Israel to comply with the deal and implement U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803. He also urged the immediate, sufficient and unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Majali called on the international community to fulfil its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure Israel’s compliance with the ceasefire, warning against steps that could derail de-escalation efforts.
He reiterated Jordan’s support for a clear political path leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Separately, Gaza’s Government Media Office said in a statement issued Saturday that Israeli occupation forces have committed 1,450 breaches of the ceasefire since it took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
U.N. and international bodies have warned that continued Israeli attacks on Gaza risk undermining the ceasefire and further worsening humanitarian conditions, calling for urgent international action to halt the violations, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and protect civilians.
