Ankara, Jan. 26 (SANA) Turkey’s Center for Combating Disinformation, part of the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, on Sunday denied the authenticity of videos and social media posts that allege Ankara’s support for ISIS in Syria.
In a statement published on the X platform, the center called claims that Turkey supports ISIS terrorists and that the group has committed violence against women “unfounded.” It added that investigations into the circulated footage revealed that the women featured in the videos had previously been affiliated with the (SDF) before fleeing to, and later surrendering to, Arab tribal forces.
The center emphasized that Turkey is “the only country waging the most vigorous on-the-ground fight against ISIS terrorism in the region,” urging the public not to be misled by what it described as organized disinformation campaigns intended to distort Turkey’s counterterrorism efforts.
The statement comes amid intensified efforts by Turkish authorities to combat the spread of unverified content across social media platforms.
