UK bans Israeli students from Military Academy over ongoing genocide in Gaza

London, SANA- The British government has announced a ban on Israeli students enrolling at the Royal College of Defence Studies, citing the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza.

According to The Telegraph Newspaper, the government stated: “The Royal College of Defence Studies will not accept students from Israel starting next year.” This marks the first time Israeli nationals have been excluded from the institution since its founding in 1927.

A spokesperson for the UK Ministry of Defence commented: “British military education programs have long welcomed personnel from a wide range of countries. These programs consistently emphasize adherence to international humanitarian law. However, the Israeli government’s decision to escalate its military operations in Gaza is a mistake.”

The spokesperson also called for an immediate diplomatic resolution to the conflict, urging a ceasefire and expanded humanitarian aid for Palestinians.

Earlier this week, the UK government also barred officials from the Israeli occupation entity from participating in the country’s largest arms exhibition.
