UNRWA: Gaza is being erased and rendered uninhabitable

New York, SANA-The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a warning that Gaza Strip is being erased due to ongoing Israeli bombardment and blockade.

In a statement posted on its official account on platform X, UNRWA said: “Gaza is turning into a barren wasteland and increasingly appears uninhabitable.” The agency added, “Children are starving, families are being forcibly displaced, and the atmosphere is one of sheer terror.”

UNRWA emphasized that in light of the large-scale Israeli military operation, political will and decisive action are now more critical than ever.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a campaign in Gaza that has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian casualties, thousands of missing persons, the displacement of hundreds of thousands, and a famine that has claimed numerous lives—including dozens of children.
