Buenos Aires, April 1 (SANA) Argentina has designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a “terrorist” organization, a move that allows authorities to impose financial sanctions and operational restrictions on its activities, the presidency said on Wednesday.
President Javier Milei approved the designation as part of measures aimed at tightening controls on entities working to undermine national and international security, according to a statement cited by AFP.
The government said the decision reflects its policy direction and commitment to confronting groups that pose a threat to the country.
In January, Argentina also added the IRGC’s Quds Force to its list of designated “terrorist” individuals and organizations.
Since taking office in December 2023, Milei’s administration has aligned closely with the United States and Israel, expressing support for their positions on Iran.
