Beirut – SANA
The Lebanese Army on Saturday began receiving a shipment of weapons from inside Beddawi Camp in northern Lebanon, as part of Lebanese–Palestinian security understandings designed to reinforce stability and uphold Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The handover was carried out under the supervision of the Lebanese–Palestinian Dialogue Committee, in coordination with the Palestinian Embassy and Palestinian National Security leadership, amid tight security measures that included a wide army deployment around the camp.
The army received three truckloads of weapons, later transported to the Qobbeh area in Tripoli for handling in accordance with standard military procedures.
This step follows a similar process implemented earlier in camps in the city of Tyre and reflects the Palestinian side’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s internal stability and fostering mutual trust—serving both Lebanon’s national interest and the Palestinian cause
