New York, SANA-The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed that families in Gaza are living without the most basic necessities, stressing that Israel has blocked the agency from delivering aid for six months.
In a post on X, UNRWA said: “Families in Gaza have been left without essentials. No aid has been allowed in for six months.” It highlighted urgent needs for shelter supplies, including mattresses, blankets, and tents, affirming the agency’s readiness to deliver them and calling for an immediate lifting of the blockade.
Israel has closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip since last March, preventing the entry of any humanitarian aid, causing famine despite the backlog of aid trucks at the border.
