Macron: Recognizing State of Palestine an ‘Irreversible’ Option

Paris,SANA— French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his commitment to recognizing the State of Palestine, saying no Israeli military operation or measures of annexation or displacement would stop the process.

In a post on X, Macron said he had spoken with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, noting that both will co-chair a Conference on the Two-State Solution in New York on Sept. 22, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. “Our objective is clear: to rally the broadest possible international support for recognition of the Palestinian state,” he wrote.

Macron underlined that France, in partnership with Saudi Arabia, has already gained support from several other countries and will continue pushing for momentum toward Palestinian recognition.

He also criticized the U.S. decision to deny visas to Palestinian officials, calling it “unacceptable” and urging Washington to reverse the move in line with its obligations as UN host country.
