Health Minister at Homs Recovery Conference: ministry's priorities to qualify medical cadres, provide modern equipment

Homs, SANA- Health Minister Dr. Musab al-Ali inaugurated Homs Recovery Center clinic for psychological support in the Governorate Health Directorate.

Health Minister said that opening the clinic is a very important step, since reconstruction is not just about rebuilding and rehabilitating infrastructure, but also rebuilding health system and human being as well.

“We are working to rebuild the affected health system, as we began with rehabilitating and restoring the destroyed hospitals and health centers, in terms of construction, cadres, medical equipment, and support for primary health care,” Health Minister said in a speech during Homs Recovery Conference.

The minister added, “We are currently working on two parallel lines, the first one is the emergency line, through opening health centers, and the second one is providing the greatest possible health coverage within a sustainable plan.

He stressed that one of the ministry’s priorities is training medical cadres to stay up to date with latest developments.

Al-Ali went on saying “we aspire to match advanced other countries in building a health system and we are currently coordinating with health organizations abroad to provide the best service to citizens.”

SANA reporter in Homs said that the clinic provides comprehensive medical, psychological, and social care, dedicated to those who were arrested in prisons of the former regime.
