Health Ministry discusses ways to support healthcare sector with British UK-Med and Cadus organizations

Damascus, SANA- Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Zuhair Qarrat, discussed Tuesday with a delegation from the UK-based emergency health response organizations, UK-Med and Cadus, ways to enhance and support the healthcare sector in Syria at the level of human resources services and overall needs.

During the meeting held at the ministry, the two sides discussed the healthcare sector’s needs and identified priorities to start a new partnership with these organizations after completing legal procedures.

The delegation expressed its readiness to support the healthcare sector in Syria in terms of rapid emergency response by providing consumables, medicines, and equipment, as well as contributing to the rehabilitation and restoration of healthcare facilities. Additionally, they showed a willingness to support primary and secondary healthcare programs, referral and emergency systems.

Dr. Qarrat emphasized the importance of partnership with entities and organizations that provide healthcare to individuals affected by disasters or conflicts and the necessity of exchanging innovative and sustainable projects focused on medical care.
