Damascus, May 16 ( SANA)– Director of International Cooperation at the Syrian Ministry of Health, Zuhair Al-Qarrat, said Saturday that a technical meeting in Damascus between the Syrian Ministry of Health and a European Union delegation focused on mechanisms for activating healthcare integration, , supporting the medical sector, and aligning humanitarian and development efforts with Syria’s national health strategy.
Speaking to SANA, Al-Qarrat said that the meeting addressed the ministry’s strategic vision for linking humanitarian and development efforts by aligning the humanitarian response plan with national plans and the health agreement, while focusing on priorities for the recovery of the healthcare system and bridging operational gaps in coordination with donor agencies.
Al-Qarrat also affirmed that the government is moving toward early recovery and development, with a focus on the national vision of “Syria Without Camps,” despite the continued need for certain humanitarian aid and emergency response efforts.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and the Directorate-General for the Middle East, NorthAfrica, and the Gulf (DG MENA)
