Damascus, Jan. 20 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), inaugurated on Tuesday an addiction treatment and prevention clinic at the Darayya Health Center in the Damascus countryside, SANA reported said .
The clinic, named “Recovery Gate,” provides psychological and social support services focused on addiction prevention, early detection, and monitoring and evaluation of addiction cases.
According to SANA reporter, the clinic will begin treatment for mild cases while referring more advanced conditions to specialized hospitals.
The initiative aims to strengthen community-based mental health services and improve access to prevention and rehabilitation programs, particularly at the local level in the Damascus countryside.
The opening of this clinic underscores growing cooperation between Syrian health authorities and international organizations in tackling public health challenges.
